Des de l’any 2009 tocant junts a The Big Jamboree, el pianista Marc Ferrer i el saxofonista Pere Miró s’han despertat recíproca admiració musical i complicitat personal. Coneixedors del jazz, del rhythm&blues i desconformes amb la societat actual, han reinterpretat i portat al seu terreny un repertori basat en petites gemmes que músics com Art Blakey, Charles Mingus o Max Roach, van escriure i enregistrar per protestar davant de situacions injustes del seu moment. A més a més, i seguint aquesta idea, ambdós artistes han composat música original per l’ocasió.
Tot aquest repertori s’ha arranjat pel trio habitual de Ferrer integrat per l’Olivier Rocque a la bateria i el Pep Rius al contrabaix. Juntament amb la el so poderós del saxo de Miró, podrem sentir un quartet amb arranjaments enèrgics, amb l’exòtisme del baríton i amb un nexe d’unió: Fer un crit contra les injustícies i un clam per la llibertat!

Pere Miró is a baritone saxophone player most active in the jazz, R&B and jamaican Barcelona scene. He plays regularly with his projects Scaramanga, Insistim and Camarades and as a member of the Gramophone Allstars Big Band and the great honker Dani Nel·lo.
